Round 1 — Leg Size Check

Read the weld symbol, select the correct fillet gauge, and check the fit against the weld. Does this fillet weld meet the minimum leg size requirement?

Accept IfLeg ≥ required size
Gauge FitFlush or gap = pass
Gauge OverhangWeld undersized = reject

Inspector's Tip

Read the weld symbol first — it tells you the required fillet size. Select the gauge that matches the callout. If the gauge sits flush or shows a gap at the toe, the weld meets the minimum. If the gauge overhangs past the weld toe, the weld is undersized.
