Compare the two halves

Same block, same cracks, same processing — the only difference is the penetrant. How does side A (in-use) look next to side B (fresh reference)?

Is the penetrant itself still good?

The quench-cracked aluminum comparator is one block, cracked by heating and water-quenching, divided into two matched halves — A and B. Because both halves carry the same crack network, processing two penetrants side by side under identical conditions isolates one variable: the penetrant.
